True, but OP mentioned getting RGB out of their SNES which likely means they're perfectly capable of soldering an RGB amp. Heck the Dreamcast options are twice that price. "expensive" is relative but it's $125 which is comparable to most other SD card solutions.

While it is sending data over the serial port it's actually faster to load as can be seen here: It loads slower than discs do since it's sending data over the serial port on the PS1 Prepare to dig out your memory cards no matter which route you go. I find this the best for compatibility and ease-of-use. I run FreeMcBoot with OpenPS2Loader to boot PS2 games, and just burn the discs for PS1 games (and boot the PS2 holding the O button, which forces the modchip into loading PS1 mode). My personal set up is a PS2 phat with a Modbo chip and internal HDD. If you were to put the PS1 with RGB, and a PS2 with RGB side-by-side, I think you would have a very hard time distinguishing between the two. In this case, would component cables be as good as RGB, if the PSGo is outputting a 240p source? I've also heard the PSGo is a great option, and I do have a LOT of ps1 games on PSN. Or, would I just set the ps2 to 480i and forget about it?

Would a softmod PS2 with a hard drive still output PS1 games in 240p? That definitely seems like my best option, but I'm not sure if any of the mods allow that resolution. I have a bunch of ps1 games in storage, but don't want all the clutter. There are a few PS1s in town, but they are unbelievably expensive. I was looking into the easiest way to play PS1 games on my PVM. I watched this amazing video, but now I have questions. So of course, now I want to play EVERYTHING on this thing! Playing MSU-1 games with thick scanlines is just unbelievable. First of all, wanted to thank everyone for everything here! I have just set up my RGB Snes jr on my PVM with a SD2SNES.
